La pandémie du Covid-19 frappe l’ensemble de la planète sans distinction de nationalité, d’origine ethnique ou sociale. Elle met en évidence les fractures entre les citoyens et les peuples (économique, sociale, environnementale, sanitaire, numérique…).

Cette crise donne à avoir l’échec du mode de développement capitaliste fondé sur l’exploitation de l’être humain et de la nature. Les inégalités sociale et sanitaires sont plus que jamais évidentes et ce sont les populations les plus pauvres qui subissent de plein fouet les conséquences de cette pandémie. Selon l’ONG Oxfam, ce sont près de 500 millions de personnes supplémentaire qui vont basculer dans la pauvreté avec la crise – soit un retour en arrière de dix ans.
