Lettre intersyndicale à Blanquer : Réponse au soutien scolaire durant les vacances

Monsieur le Ministre,

Alors que les vacances de printemps démarreront ce samedi dans la zone C, vous avez annoncé la mise en place, pendant cette période, d’un programme de soutien scolaire divisant ainsi les élèves en deux catégories, celles et ceux qui auraient besoin de se reposer et celles et ceux qui auraient besoin de remédiation.

Tous les élèves, parents d’élèves et personnels ont droit aux vacances et en ont besoin. Les parents d’élèves demandent à ce que s’arrête la pression qui s’exerce sur eux et leurs enfants.

Continuer à marteler qu’il faut faire de la remise à niveau à distance pour certains élèves, c’est entretenir l’idée que l’objectif reste d’avancer vers l’acquisition de nouvelles notions sans qu’il n’y ait de freins importants voire insurmontables par certains. Des élèves ont des difficultés qui ne peuvent être dépassées que par un accompagnement spécifique et en présentiel sur du long terme, d’autres n’ont pas les conditions matérielles et enfin des familles sont plongées dans les plus grandes difficultés pour soutenir leurs enfants. Certaines ne le peuvent pas par manque de connaissances, de matériel, d’espace ou de disponibilité. Ce faisant, vous demandez aux parents d’endosser un rôle qui n’est pas le leur. Face à l’ampleur de la tâche, se développent culpabilité parentale, stress, situations conflictuelles provoquant au mieux renoncement au pire des violences verbales ou physiques.

L’heure est à prendre soin de sa santé sans ajouter de la culpabilité, c’est pourquoi les exigences ministérielles doivent être réorientées. Il faut cesser de tenir médiatiquement et dans les instructions transmises un discours de continuité pédagogique qui induit l’idée de progressions, d’assimilation de notions nouvelles.

Les inégalités existent, le confinement, hélas, n’efface pas ces réalités mais les révèle plus cruellement encore et les exacerbe. Il convient de ne pas les creuser davantage. Il s’agit avant tout de maintenir le lien avec les élèves et les familles pour les rassurer et les accompagner, dans le respect du droit à la déconnexion de tous et des statuts des personnels. Il convient aussi de faciliter pour tous la reprise quel que soit le moment où elle aura lieu.

Vouloir à tout prix enseigner de nouvelles notions durant la période de confinement va inévitablement aggraver les inégalités scolaires, entre les élèves qui auront été dans des conditions matérielles propices aux apprentissages et les autres. Dans ce sens, il ne doit pas y avoir de prise en compte d’évaluations qui auraient eu lieu pendant la période de confinement, ni au retour de celle-ci sur ce qui aurait été étudié dans cette période.

S’il est nécessaire de se poser ensemble la question de l’après, il faut cesser sur le temps présent de multiplier les messages. Il faut au contraire avoir une parole claire et rassurante : si le lien éducatif a été maintenu avec les élèves dans la période de confinement, le fonctionnement normal de l’école s’est arrêté le 13 mars et à la reprise, tous les éléments de programme seront repris en tenant compte de ce temps suspendu : c’est cela qui constituera la continuité des apprentissages due à tous les élèves.

Il est donc nécessaire que vous affirmiez clairement aux enseignant-es comme aux familles, que les vacances scolaires doivent être un temps de repos et de coupure. Faisons confiance aux équipes pour maintenir le lien éducatif avec leurs élèves et les familles.
